Natural Childbirth Alternatives Include Hypnobirthing Are Effective

Since the beginning of mankind a woman has given birth in a natural setting, without the use of drugs or any other medical intervention techniques meant to ease the pain and discomfort while "having a baby". This was mainly because there were no appropriate medicines available for the midwife who was usually in attendance. There was also a fear of doing harm to the baby. Once hospitalization became popular and modern medications became available, along with testing which showed them safe (more or less) for the unborn child, a large majority of pregnant women chose drugs to help them get through the often painful process of delivery. Recently there has been a resurgence in the popularity of midwifery and when assisted by a trained and well qualified midwife childbirth need not be something to fear nor be a painful procedure.

Natural childbirth offers alternative methods for comfort

More recently there was a movement toward more natural birthing, and women appreciated the choices available to them. Among the more popular methods of birthing in a natural way are hydrotherapy, breathing exercises, water birth, use of a birthing ball, hypnosis, hot and cold therapy with compresses, and acupressure. Each of these pain management styles or techniques can be taught while attending natural child birthing classes. What may work well for one woman may not be as helpful for another however and most of it involves some form of mental training such as mindfulness (thinking in the moment or devoting one's entire concentration onto one specific task as with delivery of the baby). Women can talk themselves out of much of their pain by practicing one of the techniques and rehearsing with a birthing partner (husband or midwife).

Hypnosis becomes popular alternative now known as hypnobirthing

Hypnosis has become a popular method of natural child birth and women who have their first child using this method find they have no fear and little pain (if any at all). The practice of hypnobirthing is now considered a proven effective method of going through the labour process without fear. Many women who are pregnant for the first time and fearful, or have had a bad experience in the past, now feel that having that baby with assistance from hypnobirthing is the only way to go. All women may not find the process entirely pain free but will definitely experience less pain and because they are more relaxed, the labour and delivery will be far quicker, thus easier on both mother and child. And hypnobirthing can be incorporated into other natural birthing methods such as changing position or even standing and climbing stairs to induce her labour.

Faster birth often means less medical procedure intervention

When the labour and birthing process happens smoothly and efficiently there is far less probability that medical intervention will be required. Such procedures as an episiotomy (cutting the perineum to prevent tearing) or instrumental assistance to deliver or even a C-section can be prevented through the total relaxation of the mother without the use of drugs. Any time drugs are given to the mother before her child is delivered and the cord cut, there is an opportunity for those medications to enter the baby's blood stream and potentially cause harm.

HypnoBirthing is a technique that has worked for thousands of couples preparing for the birth of a new baby, whether first time parents or not. Plan a Hypno birth for your next child now.
